Floatfloor is a collaborative event series created as an alternative to a nightlife culture that is currently dominated by club music. Our aim was to create a space for relaxation, reconnection and immersive listening, something that is often missing in the local electronic music scene. The result was a cosy after-work pop-up event featuring a live performance and two DJ sets of ambient and experimental electronic music accompanied by visual projections.

Visitors were invited to unwind, listen closely, fall asleep, socialise or simply rest. To create a grounding environment, we sourced second-hand fabrics to transform the space into a soft listening area where visitors could sit or lie down.

The project was a collaborative effort between a small team, each member contributing to different aspects of the event, such as graphic design, music, live visuals, setup and art direction.
Our shared intention was to create an immersive experience where sound and space worked together to soothe the senses.

The evening was very well received, with many visitors appreciating the chance to slow down and connect through sound. The aim is to continue the series in new locations with different collaborators, adapting the concept to each unique space and context.
